I have been "sucked" into reading the Twilight series of books. For those of you who have or are reading the series, you'll understand the title. The rest of you, well, you'll have to click on the link and find out more about the series.
Moving on. My current calling at church is on the Service Committee, dealing in the humanitarian end of that calling. It's broken into two parts: community involvement, and humanitarian involvement. At least once a year our ward does a big service/humanitarian project that involves the entire community. This year, we are doing a blood drive with the American Red Cross for our project. (Hence the title of this post). It will be held on Thursday, October 11th, from 3:00 'til 8:00 p.m. at our meeting house (2700 E. Galveston, Gilbert).
If you would like to donate blood, you can call me, e-mail me, or sign up through the link to the American Red Cross and use the sponsor code "summerfield". If you can't because of a really good reason like you're pregnant, you take blood thinners, you have had Hepatitis, etc. Then you are excused. If you just plain don't want to, may you all feel really guilty since 1 out of 5 people will need blood or blood products some time in their life, and you could've been the one to help save their life.

Our RS has a book club, and since these books are so popular with the 20s and 30-somethings in the RS, I suggested we read this for the October meeting. I am hoping it will introduce a bunch of new people to the book club. It is a fun book, but I don't think it will change the world.
Thanks for the reminder!!!
My MIL suggested that book to me since I like Vampire stories... it's a long reserve line at the libray. :)
