Dinner time, make that any meal time, can be quite frustrating in the Grimsley household. Owen is so into wanting to do everything for himself at the table. He wants to scoop up the cereal, stick (fork) the waffle or pancacke, scoop the noodles or pudding, and so on. If Adam or I hand him his cup, he will put it back down on the table and then pick it up to take a drink. Tuesday was a particularly trying day after Caroline had been up every 20-30 minutes the night before not able to breathe because of her cold. So, when it came time for Owen to have lunch, I was preparing myself for the battle royale that typically ensues when we try to help him. Instead, when I gave him his lunch treat of chocolate pudding, he warmed my heart by giving me big smiles after each bite. Even though he got chocolate pudding UP his nose and everywhere else on his face, it was still worth the clean up because of those smiles.
