Big Day for a Little Girl
Thursday was a big day for Caroline. Caroline got her ears pierced! Now, before you give me any kind of grief, crap, or just a hard time in general for doing it....SAVE IT! NOTHING is going to make me feel bad for doing this. I did this because I distinctly remember my mom piercing my ears and the pain that it caused. In fact, she screwed up one of the piercings and had to redo it. She bribed me with a piece of Easter candy (I believe and not Halloween). I have to do everything for Caroline's well being now, what is one more thing to add to the list. She doesn't even know they are there. Yes, she screamed and cried. Yes, she screamed even louder after the second earring was pierced. However, she didn't scream any louder than when she gets her shots, and 5 minutes later when we were ready to walk out of the store, she had STOPPED crying. Caroline doesn't pull at them, play with them, or fuss over them. Some of you may not like it, think it was mean, or even think it looks ridiculous. That's fine; you are entitled to your opinion. I happen to think that headband bows look ridiculous and is more cruel than piercing her ears. Piercing Caroline's ears was a one time event that caused a few minutes of pain. By the way, and just by way of information, Adam did know that I did this, was supportive of me doing it, and was even a little disappointed that he wasn't there when it happened.
