Adam and I went on a vacation this last week to see his family and my family. We had a great time and a lot of fun on our adventures. So much fun that we will repeat it next year. We will change only a few details, but we will do it again.
We stopped in Salt Lake on our way up to Hailey, Idaho to see Adam's family for a couple of days. It was good to see them and play with Connor and Heather (Rebecca's kids) (We didn't take pictures, so you'll have to look at the Walker Family blog for the pictures.) We then mosied on up to Ogden to see Adam's best friend Brian. We crashed there for the night and then continued our drive (yep, that's right we DROVE from Phoenix to Hailey with the kids) to Idaho.
My Mom and Dad celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this past January. My Dad also is celebrating a "big" birthday this year. So, for the past 9 months or so, my sisters and I have been planning a surprise party in their honor to celebrate these momentous occasions. All of the kids and grandkids (except for Jay, Kristen, & Ethan) all congregated in Hailey at Mindy's house for the big surprise. It was so much fun to be with everyone there. It was warm, really warm, (100 degrees, which is downright HOT up there) but the company, food, activities, antique fairs, fireworks, and fun all made up for the weather.
Although we did the drive up in several days, we decided to drive back to Phoenix in one day. It was a very, very, very long day, but we are glad we did it. Cari screamed for an hour because she was tired of sitting in her seat; Owen cried because he didn't feel well (he has croup), Adam was driving, and I was fried from not getting enough sleep and hearing screaming kids in such a confined area. Overall, we had a wonderful time and can't wait for next year, at least I can't anyway.
